Labour squats Howard domains
A Conservative MP has written to the Electoral Commission complaining about
the Labour party cyber-squatting on domain names using the name of Michael Howard,
the leader of the opposition.
Michael Fabricant, the MP for Litchfield, condemned the Labour party as 'cyber-hypocrites'
and says the practice is against official government policy. The sites are www.michaelhowardmp.org
, www.michaelhowardmp.net and www.michaelhowardmp.org.uk
and have all been registered by the Labour party.

Mr Fabricant fears that these domains will be used in the forthcoming general election as part of a dirty tricks campaign to discredit Michael Howard by posting misleading information about the Tory leader.
Mr Fabricant, who is Shadow Minister for Industry and Technology, said that, 'By having three websites compared to the genuine one, search engines like Google, would be far more likely to hit on the fake website rather than the genuine one. What was the Labour Party going to put onto the website?'
