Go Daddy Awarded WebTrust Seal of Assurance
"The Go Daddy Group, Inc., parent company of GoDaddy.com, the No. 1 registrar of new domain names, announced today that it has been awarded the WebTrust Seal of Assurance for its SSL Certificate Authority (Starfield Certification Authority) Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificates.
The WebTrust Seal of Assurance guarantees that Go Daddy's Starfield Certification Authority has met and exceeded standards in the areas of privacy, security, business practices/transaction integrity, availability and confidentiality.
"Receiving the WebTrust Seal of Assurance validates the rigorous business and technology infrastructure processes Go Daddy and Starfield have developed to provide our purchasers, and their customers, the peace of mind that comes with using a site protected by a Go Daddy secure certificate," says Bob Parsons, president and founder of Go Daddy registrar of domain names. "WebTrust is a stringent standard that proves Go Daddy's commitment to its customers in offering high-quality, value-priced SSL certificates."
SSL Certificates provide validation that businesses who request personal or financial information online are offering a higher level of security and privacy than typical Internet sites. Go Daddy's Starfield Certification Authority offers 128-bit web server certificates, the highest level of encryption available on the market today.
The WebTrust Seal of Assurance was awarded by the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (www.AICPA.org) and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (www.CICA.ca) after a confirmation of Go Daddy's authentication and security processes for the sale of SSL certificates.
"We believe that privacy and security is an essential part of any eCommerce site," says Parsons. "Using a Go Daddy SSL Certificate reduces the fear that private or personal information can be stolen during an online transaction. The WebTrust Seal just reiterates what our customers have known for years -- Go Daddy registrar of domain names offers only the best."
